If your looking for good customer service, steer away from Whitestores. My ongoing saga with Whitestores has been ongoing since 27th September 2024 I placed an order in the York store and clearly advised I would not be ready to take delivery for the items until March 2025. The store assistant who I placed the order with in the store agreed this was acceptable and in fact called through to her manager during the order process and agreed the terms of the order. I paid the required deposit and left the store looking forward to starting my garden project in the Spring with some excellent quality items. Oh no, how wrong was I. I received a call in February to advise they would not be prepared to honour the agreement when the order was placed and unless I paid the full balance and took delivery 5 weeks early, my order would be cancelled. I raised a complaint with Whitestores and spoke to a very understanding agent (Natalia) who agreed the service I had received was not acceptable but could not persuade her manager to take a different approach and agree to the original terms. I had not option but to pay the balance early which left me in financial difficulty as funds were not available until March as part of a house renovation project. The saga continues…. I was then told, after I had paid the balance, that side panels were not in stock and would not be delivered until May 25!. Why then was there a rush to pay the balance when the items were not available to be delivered? Reluctantly I took delivery of the everything but the side panels with no firm dates when the rest of the pergola would be with me. Whitestores have had my deposit since Sept 24, my full balance since Feb 25 and I still don’t have the full pergola, far from happy. Communication with Whitestores is very poor. I attempt to contact them via Live Chat to only have my request cancelled before the agreed call back date/time with no explanation. It is impossible to get through via telephone. You are told you are the next agent in the queue but left in the queue for in excess of 30mins before I end the call even more frustrated. This is clearly affecting my mental health as I am getting no where.
