New 3 month old Motability car, got a puncture whilst away from home, Got repair kit out. Issue 12v socket not working, Luckily I had a friend with me so we used his car got the repair, went to kwik fit they replaced tyre..Rung perrys here is where i got frustrated snd hung up.The issue is 99% likely to be a fuse. Its my only form of transport. Perrys wont collect the car apparently my 2.3 miles from the garage is out of range for collection!!!!They want me to drop off my car and leave it with them for 2-4 hours for a diagnostic. I have no one to drive me. So this would leave stranded. For several hours for something that should only take 5-10 mins to fix.So I said why cant I come in someone do a check say this is just a fise. Problem solve no answer is it needs to be with them 2-4 hours and to repeat JUST 2.3 MILES (AKA Less than 5 mins drive) is too far for them to collect!Update 2nd May Perrys rung me. It gets worse the date I was offered was 6th june 5 weeks away!!! this is for a REPAIR under warranty to an electrical system in an electric Car driven by a disabled person. So yes regardless of how likely it is to be “just a fuse” (in a socket that effectively part of the puncture repair kit so if i get another puncture it will be RAC :( )But suppose it is a symptom of a more serious electrical problem? and at some point in the next 5 weeks it shorts and catches fire, and to-reiterate I am disabled so getting in/out of a car quickly IS a problem for me.Or well I guess if something does go wrong the court case will be very large..

Would give 0 stars if I could regarding the handling of my MG vehicle, purchased from Arnold Clark at the end of November.Within weeks of purchase, in December, I began experiencing a persistent and concerning growling noise when the vehicle was in first gear and reverse. This issue was reported promptly, and I was referred to Perrys Motor Sales in Huddersfield for inspection. My vehicle remained with Perrys for four days, during which I was repeatedly informed that no fault could be identified. I trusted this professional assessment, despite continuing to experience the issue. It reached a point where I began to question my own judgment, as I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously.Following further advice from Arnold Clark, I attended a test drive with a technician. During this drive, the fault was immediately evident. The noise was significant enough for the technician to express surprise and record it as evidence. This confirmed that the issue was real and should have been identified much earlier. My vehicle was then retained by Perrys for over five weeks. I was informed that the gearbox required replacement, despite the vehicle having only 32,000 miles. Given that the car was under warranty, I accepted this decision in good faith, trusting that the root cause of the issue had been correctly diagnosed and resolved. However, upon collecting my vehicle, I immediately discovered that the exact same noise persisted. The original fault had not been rectified.I reported this to Arnold Clark without delay, and a further appointment was arranged with Perrys. I took time off work and travelled 20 miles to attend. Unfortunately, the treatment I received during this visit was unacceptable.I was not offered a test drive or a practical demonstration of any findings. Instead, I was asked to read technical correspondence on a laptop without any clear explanation. I must emphasise that I am dyslexic, English is not my first language, and I do not have a technical background. Despite this, no reasonable effort was made to communicate with me in an accessible or respectful manner. When I asked legitimate questions regarding why the fault remained and what diagnostic procedures had been undertaken prior to replacing a major component such as the gearbox, I was met with a dismissive and inappropriate response. I was told that I should be “happy” the gearbox had been replaced and that if I wanted further investigation, I would be required to pay — despite the vehicle being under warranty and the original issue unresolved. This response is deeply concerning. Not only does it suggest a failure to properly diagnose the fault in the first instance, but it also raises serious questions about compliance with consumer rights and warranty obligations.I left the premises feeling distressed, disrespected, and completely let down. The manner in which I was treated was not only unprofessional but, on a personal level, extremely upsetting. No customer should be made to feel dismissed or spoken to in such a way, particularly when raising a legitimate concern about a faulty vehicle.Following this, I returned to Arnold Clark and spoke with a member of the service team who has supported me throughout this process. The matter was escalated to the Service Manager, who responded with professionalism, empathy, and a genuine willingness to assist. A second opinion has now been arranged with MG Motor UK in Manchester, with additional support offered to facilitate this. While I am grateful for this intervention, it does not diminish the significant inconvenience, stress, and emotional impact caused by the handling of my case to date — particularly by Perrys Huddersfield.I now expect a full and thorough investigation into the unresolved fault, along with a clear explanation of what has gone wrong in the diagnostic and repair process so far. I also expect that all necessary repairs will be carried out under warranty, without further resistance. This situation has caused considerable disruption to my daily life, time off work, and unnecessary distress. I trust that this matter will now be treated with the seriousness, professionalism, and respect it deserves.
Very easy experience buying a car, no pushing to buy with a very helpful sales man. Very smooth procedure from just looking to buying the car of my choice.
