6 days post surgery at optimax Newton Abbot and i couldn't be happier. I was amazed at the results immediately when I walked out of the theatre and could read a poster on the wall all be it through what I can only describe as a dense fog. Less than 24 hours later I have better than 20/20 vision, no fog and just a slight visual disturbance in my peripheral vision. 6 days on peripheral vision has resolved and night time halos have significantly reduced. I would never have believed how much this has changed my life, to be glasses free. The staff were all brilliant, professional and knowledgeable. Mr Juan Carlos Morande is a miracle worker and I can't say a big enough thank you. The procedure was quick and pain free with pain free recovery so far.

I only wish I’d had this done sooner!I had LASIK in December 2025 with Surgeon Juan Carlos Morande at Optimax - Bristol, and my vision has been 1.0 in both eyes ever since. The results have genuinely been life-changing.The newly refurbished Bristol branch is modern and beautifully designed, creating a really welcoming environment. What truly stood out, though, was the team. Stephy, Harriet, and Carter were absolutely fantastic—always friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. It was genuinely a pleasure walking in and being greeted by their warm, positive energy each time.I can’t recommend the clinic highly enough. :)

I attended Optimax in Liverpool for my first consultation in January where I had a number of vision tests and checks carried out, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I was advised as I had a corneal scar from an eye issue a few years ago caused by contact lenses, that it would be beneficial to meet with the surgeon face to face as he was best placed to advise whether I would need LASIK or LASEK. I met with Dr Samuel a week or so later who advised LASEK as the scar was too deep for LASIK. Dr Samuel was lovely, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He provided all information including associated risks and I didn't feel any pressure from him to continue. I decided the benefits for me outweighed the risks so I went ahead and booked my surgery. On the day of my surgery the staff were all so calm and reassuring, I was slightly worried as I had been told LASEK has a more painful recovery than LASIK but the way it was described was exactly how it felt afterwards. The treatment itself was so quick and painless, the strangest bit was knowing your eye was clamped open but the numbing drops meant I didn't feel a thing. Within an hour or two of returning home my eyes did feel extremely gritty, they were watering constantly and I was very sensitive to light. It felt as if I'd been chopping onions. I would say make sure you follow the aftercare they give you exactly as they say to get the best outcome. I went back for a check up 3 days later to get my bandage lenses removed and one eye had healed, the other still had a tiny bit of healing to do, but this felt fine by that evening and was fully healed when I returned 7 days later. My vision wasn't great, at the 3 day after care appointment but I kept reminding myself to trust the process.When I went back 7 days after my surgery I had 20/20 vision, if not better and I honestly can't believe it. I have worn glasses since being in school, I am now almost 36 and I can't explain the freedom of being able to wake up in the morning and not have to immediately put glasses on or contact lenses in. Being able to go swimming with my children and not have impaired vision, not needing prescription sunglasses for running / driving etc. It really is life changing and the best money I have ever spent, I just wish I had the courage to do this 15/20 years ago! For anyone contemplating it, make an informed decision but I wholeheartedly recommend Optimax in Liverpool!I still have a few check up appointments to go, and I know one of the possible side effects of LASEK is dry eyes and halo vision but I can honestly say I haven't experienced any of this. Thank you so much (especially Dr Samuel), you have changed my life!

Whole experience was made as smooth and comfortable as possible by the staff, who were friendly and made you feel in good hands. Don't have any complaints.
