We had a terrible experience with Jobruf, and we would like to warn other students. On December 16th and 17th, my friend and I traveled from Jena to Chemnitz (3 hours one way, so 6 hours total each day) to help a woman with her move. On the first day, we worked 8 hours, and on the second day, we worked 12 hours. In total, we spent around 32 hours including travel time. We are students, and this was a huge investment of time and effort. The work was extremely hard. We were barely given food, and there were countless heavy items to carry. We had to disassemble all her furniture and reassemble it again in the new apartment. When we were finished, we expected to be paid in cash, but she said she would submit everything through Jobruf and that we would receive the payment by bank transfer. This was suspicious, especially since we had never added our bank details on the platform, but we didn’t have time to discuss it as we had to catch the last train. We waited a week and messaged her on WhatsApp. She replied saying she had transferred the money and that someone would contact us soon. She seemed like a kind person, so we trusted her. But after a couple of weeks of trying to reach her, she blocked us and stopped answering our calls. We contacted Jobruf, but they told us they were not responsible and that we had to deal with the issue ourselves. I wanted to go to the police, but I was advised to contact the Arbeitsgericht. When I called them, they asked for a contract, which Jobruf never provided. Without this, the Arbeitsgericht refused to help. We asked Jobruf to at least send us some kind of proof that we had worked, but they said that wasn’t possible. In the end, we received nothing. We wasted our time, our energy, and got completely scammed. Based on our working hours, we should have earned around 300€. That’s a lot of money for students. We are extremely disappointed and will never use Jobruf again. We do not recommend this platform to anyone.
I requested a moving service in November 2024 and hired 2 helpers. When the service was concluded, the helpers asked for 66 € and I paid them. After one month, the company sent me an invoice including the cost for the helpers. I informed the company that the helpers were paid in cash on the day and requested that this should be reflected in the invoice. Surprisingly, the company asked me to get in touch with the helpers, and tell them, to tell the company that they were paid! After a lot of back and forth, finally the helpers informed the company about the payment, but the company still refused to update the invoice, and they are asking 58 € more. They keep harassing and threatening me with legal action, and refuse to update the invoice and acknowledge my payment. I will pay this little money just to get rid of you, but will never get any again get any service from these thieves.
It was a great solution to quickly find moving helpers. Jobruf managed to find great guys in time.
The two students who helped me were excellent. They move all items from the fifth floor without elevator. Probably went up and down some 30 times each of them in less than 2 hours. They were punctual and very polite.
