Had to take my very very poorly cat here. I had no choice as it was connected to my usual vets as the hospital. I had to drive an hour to get there will a very sick cat. Couldnt get seen by anyone closer. They didnt know what was wrong and charged 1800 for tests and overnight stay before referring to a specialist hospital. No communication to say they where referring him. The first i knew of this was when i got a call from the specialist hospital to ask how soon could i get him there and it needed to be as soon as possible. Still no communication from chorley about it. Specialist hospital receptionist said she would call to let them know i was going to pick him up. Another hours driving panicking. Gets to chorley. Was left waiting before i got a brief explanation from a vet. He said they had been trying to ring me to let me kniw what was going on, they coukdbt get through and had left a voicemail. That phone had not left my side and i dobt have voicemail set up. Blatant lie. Then he brings out my traumatised cat in a dirty broken cat carrier with a dirty blanket. I explained as calmly as possibke that wasnt hes carrier or blanket. He replied well its okay take this one. We dont know where it is. Er no i wont you need to go and find hes carrier and blanket. I have a really sick, traumatised cat and you dont even have the care to put him in his own carrier with his own blanket. So he just pulls the carrier of the reception desk with my cat in and swung it round, took him jn another room then suprise surpeise came back with him in his own carrier with his own blanket. Absolute disgrace, no care shown at all to my sick cat or me. Avoid at all costs. Dispicable service.

Please avoid this place, absolutely shocking care, awful communication, my dog waited 6 hours before going into her emergency surgery, she was took away at 830am from me and I never saw her again absolutely heartbreaking breaking and charged me over 2 thousand pounds to not even bring her home, didn’t even ask me to come and see her before she passed absolutely shocking practice please avoid 😡

Unfortunately an already sad, upsetting experience was made even worse by this vet visit. The experience was in our opinion a bit inhumane, cold and took way too long, in the end we were left very upset and traumatised, it was an inevitable sad day increased by a long long slow process, in some ways appeared the staff weren’t fully capable, and we were very concerned for our dogs comfort, of which in all fairness I don’t think he suffered from it, but the only reason I think this is because I had my hand on him throughout to check for flinching, to say to walk away and leave him on his own like a piece of nothing was wrong and we refused to do this,it was not a day I wish to ever repeat, and unfortunately not a vet surgery is recommend.

Went to the vets in Eccleston. As our cat was in obvious pain to find it closed. No notices on door. Phoned the emergency number which was answered after 20 minutes by female who said she was medivets. She told me that they only open 3days a week. I said it would be helpful if there was a sign with opening times. Her response was ‘well that’s Eccleston vets problem ‘ and cut me off .if that’s how they treat pet owners then I worry about the pets. Found another vets nearby who fitted us in
