A complaint was lodged back in Feb 2025, this was dealt with quicker than any other task throughout the property buying process. I have had this review drafted for 11 months, to review this shoddy excuse for a firm. Avoid at all costs.I dislike being ignored by my contact from phone calls to emails. I have been on the phone leaving voicemails for a sum total of MORE time than I've ever been on the phone with my conveyancer.I dislike their email only approach.I dislike being told to pay a final bill and then being told I need to pay more. I dislike having to chase to get things done.I dislike the increase in costs at nearly every step of the process.I dislike the speed at which replies were given to me when I am moving the process alongI dislike being suggested DC Law as a firm that could get completion done in less than 10 weeks, absolute garbage.I dislike using an assistant as the go-between.I dislike your online portal - which even now after completion has an alert to "complete your source of funds"I dislike your uploading portal.I dislike, and so does my family, the continued emails with tasks, when they are complete.Specifically (and this was resolved by their complaints dept) to not land me with a £241 bill at the very end of the process, emailed 5 minutes before the end of the day, a day before completion. When I am told constantly in all DC Law literature that payments must be over in good time, otherwise charges are incurred. Especially when Harry owned up to the mistake and stated it was his oversight. This is DC Laws fault, not mine, you should be fronting the bill. When I make a mistake in my company, I either have to give product or service free, or at least meet halfway, as the bare minimum.Suggestions to improve:Provide more than one contact name and email address from the startAnswer the phone calls? Or call back, it's not hardMaybe be in the office longer as 9-5 is too shortReply to email correspondence in a timely manner ie within a working dayUse a better online platform, CE WAY is broken, stop sending me and my family emails when the task has been completed.I can 100% tell you that I, nor anyone in my family or close friendship circle, will EVER use DC Law services. For me, NEVER again.
I would prefer not to write this review, but I want other people to know about the extraordinary incompetence of an employee working for DC Law who jeopardised what should have been a relatively straightforward purchase, one which eventually concluded on 3 December this year. I realise it was one individual, but I was so incensed by the incompetence, I now consider "DC" to stand for "Don't Care Law".Rudimentary conveyancing errors coupled with an unprofessional approach towards my solicitor gave the impression of a floundering amateur, one who was working for a fly-by-night cowboy outfit. Based on some of the other reviews, I am not the only person who has come to this conclusion. The professional courtesy and competence expected of those who work in law and or conveyancing is rarely challenged. It is an expectation that goes hand-in-hand when paying considerable professional fees. I however consistently challenged the appalling service of the DC Law employee via Connells, the estate agent which introduced DC Law to the vendor. I have recommended that Connells does not have anything more to do with the company in the future. The last point I will make is this. If you look at the Trustpilot reviews, you will see the DC Law administrator, which may be a bot, gives extremely rapid replies. Based on my indirect experience with this company, it is the fastest corporate response of all. My recommendation to anyone reading this is to source your own conveyancing services instead of dealing with the faceless DC Law corporate façade if recommended by an agent.
Fiona gave us confidence & provided a very efficient service, was easily contactable & made the selling experience easier.
We had a great experience with Iain Fleming. We initially had another solicitor who was very difficult to reach, which made the process quite stressful. As soon as Iain took over, communication improved immediately.Iain was professional, approachable, and very responsive. He explained everything clearly and kept us well informed throughout. His support made a real difference and turned a frustrating experience into a smooth one. We are very grateful and would highly recommend him
