I visited the Didsbury store initially on my own to investigate some insulated jackets and waterproofs. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about the products, with a helpful answer for every question. I also asked about women’s clothing for my wife, and was referred to Sarah for replies to my particular queries about products found on the website. I went home, reported details then later that same afternoon returned to the store with my wife. We asked for the same member of staff (Sarah) so as to continue a dialogue direct with my wife. With guidance from Sarah, we became very confident on the choices made, and even sought to make most of her expertise by enquiring about walking boots aswell. Whilst we left the store with a much smaller wallet than when we arrived, we both felt it was money well spent - the right products to suit our immediate outdoor plans and beyond. Thank you. We felt valued customers.

Poor selection of walking boots with half the display section for walking boots empty. Since leaving Piccadilly for Mercet Street, a changed and inferior experience.

I came here today with my girlfriend for her to get a last-minute gait analysis without booking so of course we weren't expecting to get seen to. Mark managed to squish us in around the fully booked day he already had! I cannot preach enough about the great services Mark provided us. She was given a selection of shoes to try out and run on, which Mark analyzed and inspected to decide which would be the best fit for her running style and foot shape. Mark was an extremely courteous individual who had a wide range of knowledge about anything running-related you could ask! I can not appreciate his services enough and Cotswold Outdoor should be proud to have such an employee under them!

Honestly overpriced and disappointing. I bought some Keen hiking boots which were unreliable and not worth the money. EDIT: these boots (which were purchased in 2023, not in 2018 as suggested - I assume they’re using my email address to try to pin it down?) were already looked at and no help could be offered so I didn’t bother taking them back again. In order to take them into the shop for help, I kept receiving emails demanding that they be handed in in a “completely clean state” which is quite literally an impossibility of the hiking boots have been used for any outdoor activities (which is their intended purpose). It’s all a bit of a mess and I really don’t recommend this shop.
