Their website gives a UK address, 3-5 day delivery & returns accepted. It doesn't indicate order could come from EU, no guaranteed delivery & returns cost £9.90. Product ok but be prepared for poor communication, vague timeframes and weeks wait. 13 Dec: placed order (for Christmas gift) acknowledgement received, payment taken immediately (to Amicum Coffee). 16 Dec: queried delivery, told “within specified timeframe”. 17 Dec: received email to say “order was on its way” 19 Dec: tracking showed courier still hadn’t collected it so I sent email cancelling order and requesting a refund. 22 Dec: received an email stating “ We have cancelled your order. Please be assured that the refund has been processed and the refunded amount will reach you within 5-8 working days, depending on your payment provider.” 29 Dec: I received a message from Royal Mail to say that a package from Spring GDS_DE was being delivered. On receipt I found that it was the cancelled order from Coffee Friend. Nowhere on the correspondence from Royal Mail or on the package did it say Coffee Friend. I sent an email to Coffee Friend enquiring about my refund and was told since I’d received the package it had been cancelled! I have in writing their confirmation of the cancellation so I said that I wanted to return the order and for them to pay the return. They replied “Of course, we will send you the label for the return. We are awaiting for the third party process initiation and will send you the label shortly.” So over 2 weeks after payment was taken, 10 days after the order was confirmed as being cancelled I am still waiting. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, JUST PAY A LITTLE MORE AND USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY, I WISH I HAD.
Order: 003643478 I am extremely disappointed with Coffee Friend’s rigid and unhelpful approach to customer service. Despite it being the Christmas period, they refuse to offer any extension to their restrictive 14-day return policy, which is completely out of touch with standard industry practice this time of year. To make matters worse, my order arrived without a return label. When I reached out to resolve this, the delay in their email response further ate into the tiny 14-day window. It feels like the process is intentionally designed to be difficult so that the return deadline passes before you can get help. Even if I were to be in the timeframe I would have needed to await their reply to proceed with the return. If you are buying gifts, shop elsewhere. This company has no interest in being "friendly" or helpful during the festive season. I won't be shopping here again.
