I paid for an “emergency” drainage call-out and received an extremely superficial, low-effort assessment that did not come close to justifying the fee.The operative made a speculative assumption about the cause of the blockage (“must be the main stack”) without lifting access points, carrying out CCTV, taking photos, or doing any meaningful diagnostic work. I was left with no evidence, no usable report for insurance purposes, and no resolution.I then had a specialist drainage contractor attend via my insurer. Using the same basic equipment, they conducted a proper investigation, produced a CCTV-backed report with photos, and successfully unblocked the pipe. This made it very clear that a competent assessment and resolution was possible at the time of Able Emergency’s visit — they simply did not do the work.I raised a formal complaint directly with the company and requested a refund for the inadequate service. They have ignored my email entirely. The lack of response is as unprofessional as the service itself.Charging for a call-out while providing guesswork instead of proper diagnostics, then ignoring a formal complaint, is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company and use a proper drainage specialist instead.
