Ordered a code for the PS store for my sister's birthday, turns out, there is verification that you must do in order to receive the code, even though you've already paid for it. The verification was also invasive to privacy, Startselect wants you to upload your drivers licence or passport then take a photo of yourself to verify that you are the one who made the purchase? The process isn't instantaneously either and it took literal hours in between attempts to be notified of a unsuccessful attempt. After failing the verification twice even after following the process correctly, I sought out customer service, only to be directed to a email/chatbot/social media inbox, the WhatsApp AI informed I'll be refunded in 72 hours due to verification timeout. I don't recommend this product from this company due to this convoluted process and extremely poor customer service. I suggest you purchase elsewhere without verification and/or a manned customer service, save your own time. 27/12/2025. The 'automatic refund' process after failing to complete verification post 72 hours isn't actually automatic... and is in confliction of the website's own policy. I received an email asking to confirm my refund, of which there was a link that was missing its hyperlink for me to confirm. This resulted in having to contact customer service via email. To reiterate, this website is not a scam/fraud, the customer service and user interface just is a 1/5. My rating is not regarding to the failed code; I will update again after my refund actually gets processed.
