Public Storage took over the Storage company that used to own my storage facility. They downgraded me for one large unit to two smaller ones which was very inconvenient. Someone tried to break into one of the two smaller units and damaged the assembly that the lock attaches to …the door was also damaged And is almost impossible to raise now I have complained about this, but nothing has been done. I asked to get it repaired and mentioned the unit numbers 196-202 that I have at the Mesquite TX location. I went over today to try to get in my unit and found the lock had been changed. I looked at the second unit and the lock had been changed on it as well. I am paid up and do not owe them money. I can get through their automated gate system and door to the air control space but I cannot get in either unit. There is no one on the site and no one is returning my calls. I cannot in good faith recommend this company as of today. Update 4/24 the property manager has responded and is trying to help.
Kelly at Public Storage on Northrup (12485 Northup Way) in Bellevue Washington was very helpful and accommodating. I had been initially assigned to a storage unit in an area of their facility that was down many hallways and far away from the elevator and I actually had a panic attack trying to find my way back to the elevator -- NOT GOOD. Well Kelly found me a spot that was close to an exit near the office and I am most thankful. I am elderly and the other spot was impossible for me. Thank you Kelly for going out of your way to accommodate me.
Public Storage 504 Jane St, Fort Lee, NJ 07024 Self-storage facility I would give zero stars if I could. I really liked this storage until they screwed me over. everything was great till they raised my rent price after a few months. So I moved out! Then I was charged for the month on March 2nd the same day I moved out. I was told they had no way of giving me a refund or partial refund and they can't refund me for the unit insurance I also payed for. they Said I had to stay till till April 1st. I told them it didn't make any sense to be forced to pay rent and insurance on empty unit for another month! So, I called my card company who approved a charge back because what public storage was trying to do is a scam. Then I recieved a letter from collections on April 1st that I owed a balance to public storage for March 4 to April 1st. I explained to collections that I've moved out March 2nd! Why was I being forced to pay for this another month? This is the first time in my life I've ever recieved anything from collections. The collections agent agreed public storage was being vindictive and sent to collections without telling me I had an unpaid balance and with no warning, no nothing. The collections agent sympathized with this scam but she had to do her job .So she gave me an adjusted and fair price that I was ok with paying off. The collections agent agreed with me that public storage sent this Immediately to collections (which I think is also illegal) to be vindictive. I want everyone to know that public storage tried to hurt my credit. Beware of public storage shady business practices.
Beware. This company is a scam. I rented a unit in Scottsdale AZ on 70th st. They get you in the door with a low rate and then 3 month later, they double the rate, and then later, they triple it. They have doubled my price, yet are advertising other units that have the exact specifications as my old pricing. I can continue to get that lower price if I move all of my stuff to another unit with the exact same specifications. Unfortunately, I cannot get there right now because my husband has cancer surgery in a week and a half and I am in Northern California. So, Instead, I have to pay double the price. The local manager cannot approve a lower price and corporate will not do it. Do not go here unless you are prepared to pay triple the price, because that is exactly what they will do to you. They get you in the door for a low price and the double it and then triple it, etc. Please see the other reviews complaining about the same thing along with theft and rats. Here is what they quote: "Public Storage runs on a month-to-month basis, so prices may be subject to change any time per section 2.2 of the lease agreement that you signed. It is subject to periodic rate increases with no exact time frame or amount cap listed." Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I will be moving all of my stuff out of there as soon as I can.
