As with every other genuine review on here, if I could give 0 stars I would. I moved to Canada a few years ago and started on Public Mobile. Wasn't too bad at the start, bit frustrating to have no customer service to contact, but I wrote it off as a trade for a slightly cheaper plan. After a year things just deteriorated though... I had to leave the country for 6 months so as I always do, I set up an auto-renewal to keep my plan and number active, triple checked I had the funds in my account for it, and headed off. Came back ready to move my sim over, find out after the first month, PM decided to just stop my auto-renewal with no warning or contact, this meant they gave my number to someone else. Couldn't get into any of my important accounts because of course everything has 2-factor authentication and it's attached to my old number. Nightmare. I attempt to get my old number back and in the process they give me an entirely new number (after I've paid under the impression they're re-activating my old one) so then I'm stuck in a plan with them for at least another month. At this point I know I only have 4 months until I completely leave the country so say 'whatever' and decide to just deal with it. Should have eaten the cost and just gone to a more expensive company in hindsight. I set up auto-renewal but each month my phone stops working and I have to dig to find any communication about my plan ending. EACH MONTH I go back in and switch auto renew BACK ON in the hopes I don't have to deal with it next month. The date I leave Canada comes around and I go into my account, giddy to cancel this stupid service and never have to deal with it again. Do some digging and find out I can't cancel my number/account, but if I switch of auto-renew and don't activate a new subscription then my number will be cancelled after a period of time, so that's what I do. Guess when I get my first successful auto-renewal? 2 weeks after I've switched it off and left the country. So now I'm fighting them for a refund and waiting for them to put in writing that I won't be charged again when I've tried to cancel my service.

Great online support (for me), extremely cost effective, decent connectivity in my suburban part of British Columbia, nice USA (!!) and Mexico roaming packages available if required Worked flawlessly for us in California (2024) and Mexico (2025)

This is a great discount cell service provider that uses the Telus network and the cell service is as reliable as Telus but much less expensive. To keep the prices low, there is no over the phone service help. There is an on line community to help with issues and this is very helpful. If you like saving money, Public mobile is the way to go. If you want Platinum card, luxury service and willing to pay more, Telus and Koodos has great plans for you.

I signed up with Public Mobile and lost my phone number in the process. Telus could not help me and Public Mobile had a glitch on their end. I had paid for one month. I lost my phone number and $35.00. What a scam!!!
