Placed a total of 5 orders with materials market. Only 2 of them have been fulfilled without issue. I will not be using again. If you are a trades person, or rely on your delivery on a specific day, GO ELSEWHERE! Long story short. Book a delivery, dont hear anything, call them and get told 'sorry, you're not getting your delivery today'. Or 'we can't source that', a day or 2 before it's meant to come. 'I'll get it sorted, and call you back' - Doesn't happen. My last 2 deliveries that i booked never came. First one they missed, so i got them to merge it with my next delivery I'd booked. Then i get an email saying they cant meet that date either! I have now cancelled it and am fighting to get a refund. I am going elsewhere, even if it means paying more. I suggest you do the same.
Abysmal!!! They let you pick a delivery day when you place your order. Mine was nearly a week ahead. I placed the order, money left my account and I wrongly assumed that meant all was set. I hired equipment and lined up some help. Then at 4pm the day before my delivery day, I was called and told that it would actually not arrive until a full week later. I explained to the person that was not ok and asked if it could be any earlier. They said they'd call back in 5 minutes. They didn't, instead I got an email confirming delivery for the later date. I accepted it and asked whether there would be any compensation in my reply. Then 5 days later I got an email saying that my payment couldn't be processed and the cancellation of my order. Ive now lost a week and face paying a second fee for adjusting my equipment hire unless I can get the material somewhere else in the next 2 days.
I had a great experience with Materials Market. Samuel went above and beyond to make sure everything arrived on time—even following up personally to confirm delivery. Communication was fast, friendly, and transparent throughout, which made the whole process super easy. The materials arrived as expected, and the builders were able to get straight to work. Our paid delivery slot was booked for Friday for a project over the weekend. We received a call on the day of delivery advising that it would be delayed but we agreed that 6/7 items would still be delivered that day. The delivery turned up with only 5 of those 6 agreed items with no comment about the missing one. We contacted customer services and were told we would instead receive the missing item with the rest of our order today (Monday), however, no delivery has arrived today, calls to customer services kept failing and then when we finally got through we were promised a call back today from the delivery team or if not, customer services... an hour later and we're still waiting for any news and customer services are now closed. No idea if the goods or a refund will ever materialise... Think we will be going elsewhere next time! UPDATE: after Materials market and their end supplier called repeatedly to arrange delivery on Tuesday despite explicitly saying we were not available, and about 10 further calls to customer services and the end supplier, the slate finally turned up yesterday (filthy and 150mm not the 40mm ordered!) and to top it all off- no sign of the missing item from delivery #1. Can’t get through to customer services again (recorded message doesn’t say it’s closed for the bank holiday?) so now waiting for yet another call back … Order #0878-056
