Good experience purchasing a 2023 Chevy Malibu. However, after 3 weeks the vehicle went into reduced power mode. Long story short, the issue is not covered either by Chevrolet or Hertz warranties. When Chevy dealer first inspected the car they said the oil was “dark and dirty”. Hertz manager claims oil was changed during 115 point inspection prior to the sale but they have no records of car being serviced. $1,300 later, including $118 for an oil change I wonder who we should believe - Hertz or Chevy? Hertz Sales Manager says they can’t do anything for us - not even cover the cost of oil change! As a Hertz employee I am not happy with Hertz Car Sales.

I bought a car from Hertz Car Sales Orlando this past August. I had the car delivered to Phoenix Arizona where it developed a problem. The salesman Adrian Perez stepped up and solved the problem getting the auto mfg. and Hertz together to solve the problem. The guy is not only a great salesman, but is an advocate for the customer. We reserved a car and paid for it in Aug so it would be ready for October, two months in advance. A few days before, I tried calling. The number kept going to voicemail. When we showed up DURING BUSINESS HOURS, they said they were closed and wouldn't help us. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR WITH CONFERMATION NUMBER IN HAND!!!

Wanted to buy a car through the Rent2Buy option, that is: rent it for 3 days, get the car checked out and get the rent waived if you buy the car. I made a reservation for the car for a couple of days after the first available date, got a confirmation but then heard nothing while the reserved date was approaching. I called and heard the car wouldn't be ready on the reserved date. They couldn't say when it would be ready. So I cancelled the appointment I had made for the pre purchase inspection. Then all of a sudden, the car IS ready on the reserved date. I was lucky my mechanic still had availability within the three days timeframe. When I arrive at the rental location, there apparently still is a hold on the car. It took several phone calls to get this removed. In the meantime we filled out the paperwork to rent the car and then finally we got to take the car with us. When arriving home (only then unfortunately), I notice that the car -all wheel drive- is delivered with unmatched tires: potentially harmful for the drivetrain. Since there are no maintenance or service logs, it's not clear for how long this has been. The 'no haggle' price of the car was in line with KBB value for year & mileage. However, for that price I was expecting a functioning car; not a car that needs four new tires right away. I addressed this with Hertz and was told to expect a call back within a couple of hours. That didn't happen. I called back again and asked to speak to higher level. Although promised, this did not happen either. The level of unresponsiveness made me return the car and take my loss with the car rent. Bad experience. At least take a good look at the car before you even rent it and try to get everything done at the same location you're renting from. We rented from El Paso and had to do business with Hertz Car Sales in Bedford while I was told to discuss the tire issue with 'corporate'. Too many layers.
