Ordered a guitar and an Headrush core pedalboard at 8am Friday morning and paid the extra fee for Saturday delivery. Received no confirmation about dispatch. Followed up Saturday morning to be told the Headrush core’s were in stock but yet processed by the warehouse? So… are they in stock or not? Said they can deliver the guitar on Monday and the modeller next Friday 😂 A bad experience. Cancelled my order as I needed them this weekend hence paying for Saturday delivery. Don’t think I’ll be using this company again.

As a customer who has purchased 15 guitars and other items over the past 5 years, I was hesitant to write something negative about G4M. However I have come across a G4M policy that is not only annoying, but can cause financial difficulty and inconvenience to some customers.Firstly I have to say that the quality of the G4M and Antiquity range of guitars are fantasetic value for money, and their periodic reductions make it even better. The real weakness in the G4M system concerns, delivery, returns and refunds. I will give an example of a recent purchases. I purchased an Antiquity 35 Cherry red guitar over a week ago. Despite delivering several items to my address over the past year, for some inexplicable reason the order details stated the guitar would be delivered to an address I had not lived for 3 years. I immediately informed G4M of the error over the phone and was advised the courier would be informed to deliver to the proper address. Fourteen hours later I received an email from the courier stating the address for delivery was still my old address. I contacted G4M again by phone, and was advised to ignore the couriers email and the guitar would be delivered to the correct address. So I waited in a d half an hour after the delivery was due received an message from the courier informing me he had been able to deliver, of course he had gone to my old address. OK these things happen and because the stock of the guitar was dwindling fast decided to order the guitar again, and get a refund on the guitar they failed to deliver. In order to avoid more confusion I ordered the replacement for click and collect. That went OK and I collected the guitar, which is worth four times what G4M sell it for, and it is fantastic. However the situation regarding the first guitar has become farcical. Five days since the courier failed to deliver and said they were returning it to G4M, and G4M admitted it was their error my refund is nowhere near being processed. WHY? Apparently according to G4M the courier have still not returned the guitar. When and (if) they do, the returns department have to acknowledge receipt, inspect it for damage, and providing it is OK will issue a refund. Bearing in mind I have never seen the item to inflict any damage, it has always been in the custody of G4Ms chosen courier who acknowledge they have it, why do G4M insist on witholding my money until all these unnecessary 'protocols' have to be met? All customer services say is that they apologise for the inconvenience but won't actually do anything. While I could afford to buy a replacement and wait for my refund, not everyone can. The particular guitar I purchased is now sold out, and know if I had not purchased a replacement before they sold out, that there was no guarantee I would have got the original guitar back. G4M would have classed it as a return although it wasn't, put it back in stock to sell with no guarantee or consideration for me on potentially missing out on the item I wanted and had paid for. It was also very likely they would have sold the returned guitar before I got my refund. The reason I know this is because I know of customers who have missed out because of this unfair and reasonable policy. Some of these customers under these circumstances have contacted G4M requesting that their payment be used as a credit to ensure the item they paid for is not returned to stock and sold to someone else. G4M flatly refuse to do it. Why? As someone who ran a large retail company for 4 decades, the answer is simple. Despite selling thousands of items to members of the public, G4M are not really customer oriented or friendly. Whether you are a one off purchaser or a regulay buyer like me there is no actual loyalty because they dont know or even care who you are.If I am extended the courtesy of a reply from G4M regarding these issues, they will deny this. But the fact is that G4Ms policies including the one I have highlighted, ensure it is G4Ms interests and convenience that is catered for. If a customer misses out, (and many do) because of these policies it is just unfortunate ( this is what customer services will tell you) and they are just calateral damage. Many customers who have saved hard to purchase a desired instrument from G4M, have missed out because of not only these policies but errors made by G4M. An apology from G4M is so disingenuous to say the least and means nothing, and does not compensate for the disappointment experienced by some customers. My solicitor advises that in these instances G4M are actually in breach of contract, and them just issuing a refund when their policies have denied the customer the item they required requires more than just an apology. Order number M12782382. There are several emails and phone calls which I am told are recorded, so plenty of info that can accessed.
I have several Stratocasters, have had many that’s sold, even custom shop models. The Performer model is the one I like the best, reliably stable, sounds beautiful and feels like a real Strat Buy one!
