It’s an absolute scam and deeply disrespectful, showing a total lack of empathy. We got a dog insurance policy with Figo to gain peace of mind and avoid unexpected costs. In reality, it made everything worse. Every health situation with our dog became more stressful because of Figo – endless bureaucracy, no help, and absolutely no financial benefit. It’s basically paying a high monthly fee for nothing. To be concrete: our dog suffered a stomach torsion (bloat) – a critical emergency that must be treated within hours, often minutes, or it’s fatal. Figo refused to cover it, claiming there was a six-month grace period on stomach issues. That is outrageous. Every veterinary professional knows that bloat is an acute, unpredictable emergency, not a precondition. Even our vet personally called Figo to explain this, but they wouldn’t listen. We pay nearly €70 a month expecting support and compassion – instead, we got stress, disrespect, and zero coverage when it mattered most. Finally, after this experience, we wanted at least to cancel our insurance, and they said there's nothing to do there because we have a contract to oblige.

From my honest experience to their service, I gave them all files and documents I had from three veterinary cabinets and since I adopted my pets. The response I got for three-four times was that they did not received all documents which is false. After asking which document or information they would need more specifically and inviting them to call me of the vets, the response was the same! And hereafter, below my review, you can see how this has changed (having edited my review today: 20251005). They are not helpful and not financially supportive. Sounds a bit too commercial and not service-purposed/oriented. I heard this similar opinion from many other vet and people. I decided for a few months already that I will not renew my annual (unfortunately) subscription! Time to change to Europeans/Dutch pet insurances (originally this company is from the USA). Good bye. Utterly useless product if your pet has a medical history of any kind. They are not transparent in what their product exactly covers. Case in point: my cat has a history of struvite stones. The solution to this is a dietary based approach, which is something insurances don't cover anyway. However, because of this FIGO thinks its acceptable to not cover ANYTHING bladder related, regardless of whether this has anything to do with the struvite stones (which he does not even have anymore). Their reasoning was: he is sensitive therefore we are not going to cover any medical costs related to the bladder, for LIFE. This is a clause that they added to the contract themselves, all the way at the bottom, so unless you really read everything 100 times (and i thought i had) you will not see this in time. And then you are stuck until your contract is up. They will also not pay for any supplements, or medication the vet wil prescribe, of the vet visit even, if like in my case it has to do something with the clause they added to the contract. So no i think their service and product is useless when you want insurance for a pet that actually needs this. Because they will not cover it, no matter what you tell them. Would not recommend to anyone unless you want to be stuck for a year paying. Don't be fooled by the high coverage they give and fancy website. At the end of the day, if it costs them money, they will simply add clauses to the proposed contract to get out of it.

I’ve dealt with bad companies and scams before, but Figo has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. They’re ineffective, constantly looking for excuses, and always fall back on the same clause to deny claims, even when it doesn’t apply. It feels like their only goal is to avoid paying or refunding. If you’re considering signing up with them, I’d strongly suggest you think twice, or better, keep looking elsewhere.
