I subscribed to a Coursera AI course because I was excited to start learning AI skills for my career. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.I started the course on Sunday night and canceled the subscription the very next day — less than 24 hours later. Despite this, Coursera denied my refund request. The course content also felt too theoretical and repetitive for my learning style. I was expecting something more practical, engaging, and connected to real workplace applications.Overall, the experience was frustrating and stressful instead of motivating for a beginner trying to learn AI.
As others indicate, the subscription is poorly communicated and designed to trap you into making repeated payments for a single course. Quality of courses is very low.

They pull you in with the below vaguely worded offer of a free trial, where you get to try anything for free for a week, and then you just need to pay a £37 monthly subscription fee to continue. What they don't tell you is that each of those will be separately charged, and once they do, they snap an immediate 'non-refundable' tag on each charge. It's an absolute SCAM. I even tried to explain this to two different customer representatives and they've both cut me off because they couldn't argue with it! I'll be contacting the legal department next."7-day Free TrialUnlimited access to all courses in the Professional CertificateWatch lectures, try assignments, participate in discussion forums, and more.Cancel anytime. No penalties - simply cancel before the trial ends if it's not right for you.£37 per month to continue learning after your trial endsGo as fast as you can - the faster you go, the more you save.Certificate when you complete after your trial endsShare on your resume, LinkedIn, and CV."
