The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is one of Europe's largest university hospitals, affiliated with Humboldt University and Free University Berlin.
I had an excellent stay and recovery at the Virchow Klinikum Charité. The staff were incredibly attentive and always present when I needed them. I never felt alone during my 12 days in the hospital — every day, someone checked on me and made sure I was doing well. From the cleaning staff to the nurses and doctors, everyone was professional, caring, and helpful. Their dedication and kindness made a difficult situation much easier to handle. I’m deeply grateful for the care I received and want to thank all the staff at the Virchow Klinikum Charité for their outstanding work.
Approximately, back in 2008 - i was about 31 years old at the time - as an international patient from Greece, i undertook a surgery to remove, a tumor on my left scapula. As it is always the case in such situations, it took some time, with all the agony that comes along, until i was informed by the doctors that it was a benign, tumor. (I will not go deeper with this review to analyze how i think and the reasoning behind how finally this tumor really developed - but maybe still you can form an idea after reading my other reviews here, if you wish - because it will go too far and maybe beyond the scope of this review of this Hospital.) I too, like others here, believe the hospital - meaning the management consequently some doctors - are "politically motivated", as some other reviewer mentioned here & others too more or less mention the same thing. Put in another way, corrupt; which practically means they are also part of this underground perverted illegal network. There are other hospitals too, that i was meant to have a similar nasty/perverted/unethical experience from the leaving unit of the hospitals, but now in Greece; such as Genimata & Vromokaitio :) public hospitals. I am sure these are not the only ones, but not been that lucky & had the immense pleasure to experience them all even when i was put down to sleep...! ;) Anyway, I have been the target for an implied extremely nasty, completely unethical, sick & perverted underhanded message from the doctor that performed the surgery in Charite. He was suggesting me to visit and remove the cement type implant with a more friendly, retrieved from my glutes, bone implant. Yes i know, it is a normal procedure, but the manner & context in which it was said, by the doctor, was not! He was implying something else - extremely perverted, sick and sexually related. Even my father, a senior - who also knew the "market", for himself - and was next to me at that moment, silently commented right away "NOT to come back and replace the cement type implant"! I did not ask much more, since he was only plainly commenting on it and wished not offering any additional ground for discussion. Still, I never did PAY a second visit, just to be on the safe side! ;) It has been a few years since I undertook the surgery but after looking the other reviews, I wish to offer one more additional review for consideration, based on my experience, to the unaware. Like others imply here as well, be very skeptical before you make the decision to pay a visit here, (well and elsewhere...) In addition, recently, the lines of communication with the hospital offered were very limited when i needed a response. They ONLY offered to contact the hospital, as an international patient, via email! They claimed, on the website, that calling them on the PHONE, was unavailable/not possible...?!!! Notably, never received a reply to my email asking for the histographic examination results to forward them to a new health insurance program that was requesting it, since I was considering to join, a few months ago.
I was taken to Charité by ambulance for an acute pain in my abdomen. The paramedics were wonderful however once we arrived I was forced to sit outside the hospital because I was on week 2 of corona and they needed to clear a space for me. Now a schnell test would’ve shown I no longer had it. Long story short, I was sent back home a few hours later in acute renal failure with 2 kidney stones, one in the renal duct and one stuck in my kidneys medulla because they said it was “just corona”. I then had to call an emergency doctor the next day to help me, as the pain was unbearable and I couldnt stop throwing up. The emergency Dr came to my house, THE VERY NEXT DAY AND CONFIRMED I NO LONGER HAD CORONA. She advised I immediately go to the emergency room. My sister who is a Dr herself flew in from Portugal that very day and took me to Franziskus Hospital where I spent the next 5 days with an emergency stent placed into my kidney. Fransikus immediately sent their head of urology in to see me, ultrasound confirmed and blood tests showed I was in big trouble. 10/10 would never recommend Charité hospital, rather go to Franziskus where they actually know what they’re doing. 03/12/2021
