I ordered a gaming PC from Canada Gaming Computers more than 3 weeks ago, and the experience has been extremely frustrating due to misleading information and missed deadlines. When I placed my order, the product page displayed an estimated ship date in the next 3 days. I was also told processing would take 4-7 business days. However, we're over 3 weeks later and I still haven't received a shipping confirmation. The company claims they run stress tests and quality checks before shipping, which I appreciate in theory, and could explain some delays. However, the order status has been stuck at "In Transit to Facility" for the last 2 weeks with no clear explanation Something is clearly wrong with either their process or their communication about what's actually happening with my order. Bottom Line: If you're considering ordering from Canada Gaming Computers, be prepared for delivery times that may be 2-3x longer than advertised. The initial ship dates that convinced me to purchase were completely unrealistic, and I still don't have a reliable answer about when my computer will actually arrive.
I ordered a gaming PC and more than three weeks and I still have no delivery date, no tracking information, and no clear communication about when (or if) my order will ship. Responses, when they come, have been vague and unhelpful, leaving me unsure whether I’ll actually receive the PC or need to pursue a charge-back. This level of uncertainty weeks after payment is unacceptable for a company selling high-value systems. I strongly recommend others be cautious before ordering.
TL;DR I got a PC with the wrong parts initially. After about 3 weeks, I got the PC I paid for. It's well-built and it performs as expected. Customer service was OK, but there were a lot of red-ish flags along the way. Full review: Here's a summary of my experience with Canada Gaming Computers and a few constructive criticism for its owners and employees. I ordered a fairly powerful computer at what appeared to be a very good price during rammageddon. I paid with an Interac transfer to save a few dollars, but in hindsight I should not have done that (it's going to be clear why later). The computer took a fair amount of time to arrive (ordered Dec. 8 and received it on Dec. 23rd). It's not unreasonable, but it is not *fast*. When I booted the PC for the first time, I realized it didn't have the right components... Instead of a 7800x3d, I received an 8700f and instead of 32go of RAM, there was a single 16 go RAM stick. The CPU cooler was also an air-cooler, when the pictures on the website clearly showed an AIO. I contacted support and got a quick response. Their initial offer to right the situation felt both sketchy and awfully insufficient, even if I don't think it was ill-intentioned. They told me to go buy the CPU myself, on dec. 24th (!), and that they would reimburse me when they received the parts I received and said nothing about the RAM. I said the offer was unacceptable and then they offered me to send me 400$ upfront to go buy the right CPU and received 100$ as compensation (or upgrade to a 9800x3rd), buy the correct amount of RAM for up to 500$ (when RAM was already more expensive than that). They would reimburse the total, including installation costs, after they received the parts. I accepted this deal, still feeling very awkward about the whole thing. I then realized that it would be much simpler if they would simply send me the right parts and I arrange the installation afterwards. This was accepted. I received the parts on Jan 5 and received the 100$ that was promised a bit before. So, all in all, I got what I paid for. BUT... throughout this whole thing, I never felt completely confident that it was going to end well and here's a few reasons why: - The Canada gaming computers website went down at some point before I got the PC and I was deeply worried I had gotten scammed paying with an Interac transfer. At least with a credit card I could have charged back. It went back on, but still, I got really scared for two days. - Even if support was generally responding fast, the responses were often clearly generated by AI and it made me highly suspicious. - The support over phone is done with an AI, but it does not say it's an AI and it's really awkward and sketchy. - I understand mistakes happen, especially during peak shopping like before christmas, but I can't shake the feeling that someone at Canada Gaming Computers was hoping this mistake would not get caught. I have no proof of that and they did resolve my situation, but I'm sure there are customers who wouldn't know how to check if the computer they ordered was delivered with the right parts and those people would not have caught the mistake. - Again, I don't think the initial reparation offer was ill-intentioned and they surely wanted to find the fastest solution to allow me to get the PC before Christmas, but telling a customer to go buy parts on Christmas Eve and that they'll get their money back after they receive the part feels *very* sketchy. I would suggest revising use of AI in customer relations and be more thoughtful when trying to find solutions for this type of issues. In conclusion, I got the PC I paid for. It's well-built and it performs as expected. Customer service was OK, but there were a lot of red-ish flags along the way. For everyone's sake, I hope that Canada Gaming Computers respects their commitments for the warranty and after-sales services...
I recently purchased a custom-built PC from Canada Gaming Computers. I am extremely pleased with the final product—it is well-built, works perfectly, and is truly awesome\! The quality of the build is excellent. The customer service process, however, was a bit slow and required multiple follow-ups, which is perhaps typical of a smaller company experiencing high volume. I had to inquire several times to get a confirmed shipping date, to receive the promised $40 refund (which had been issued manually), and for an update on the ARC game promotion that I am still waiting for. Despite the back-and-forth and the delays in service, the issues were eventually addressed, and most importantly, the computer itself is fantastic. If you are willing to be patient with the communication process, the high-quality product is definitely worth it in the end.
