Arag law were recruited by simply business who are a liability insurance company, to provide assistance with pursuing some non paying customers for services provided in construction. Covered by a £100,000 Legal expenses sum on my cover. The claims had previously been deemed valid by a collections agency and Arag law. But suddenly the claims were discontinued due having been deemed as low expectations of a positive result. It is the second part of a problem I have suffered where hard working people are required by law to have insurances that fail to operate in compliance with law?!.. it’s ridiculous. I engaged ARAG Law via my Legal Expenses Insurance for a professional negligence claim. From the outset, I made clear that the matter was time-sensitive and that I am a vulnerable customer. ARAG Law acknowledged this and stated that reasonable adjustments would be made. Despite this, communication was slow, inconsistent, and often only occurred after repeated chasing. I experienced long periods with no updates, unclear timelines, and no proactive engagement. On one occasion I was told delays were due to “unprecedented high work volumes,” only to later discover that the person assigned to review my complaint was actually out of the office for several weeks — something that was never communicated to me directly. The prospects assessment process itself lacked transparency. My claim was rejected without a clear explanation of how the 51% prospects threshold had been applied to my evidence or heads of loss, leaving me unable to understand or meaningfully respond without further escalation. Overall, I found the process stressful, time-consuming, and poorly managed, particularly given the assurances made about reasonable adjustments and urgency. I would not recommend ARAG Law for matters where timing, clarity, and proactive handling are critical.
Complete waste of time using their legal expenses insurance. They seem to cherry pick the money making cases, no interest in anything else. Non responsive customer service.
Excellent legal advice provided by Ash. This is the second occasion that I have used ARAG Law. Today was for advice only but last year was for a dispute with a builder. Highly recommended.
